Beginning Tai Chi: Level 1
Oct. 15th to Dec. 19th.
$225 for ten classes: $325 for both days. Pre-registration is required
Develop physical and mental fitness and find a new harmony of the mind, body and spirit using this ancient Chinese art.
Starting with basic movements, warm-up techniques and breathing exercises, you will learn a short 24-step set of flowing natural movements done slowly with calmness, balance and awareness. Tai Chi can be be done in as little as 5-7 minutes of practice daily. As a short form, modern people with busy lives who still desire an exercise system for fitness and health will find this set enjoyable and ideal.
Jampa Mackenzie Stewart is a world renowned certified master teacher and staff member of Valley Spirit Wellness Center. He is also the founding director of Healing Tao Institute.

Taoist Yoga, is a set of movements and postures that combines the skillful use of movement, breathing and awareness for fitness, healing, strength, flexibility and relaxation. Taoist Yoga has thousands of varieties and styles. This particular set, called Lian Gong Shr Ba Fa, takes you through 36 movements that will improve your strength and breathing, balance and range of movement and to prevent and treat joint problems throughout the body. Great class for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

Way of Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing one's attention to the present moment. We grow our abilities in mindfulness through simple meditation, abiding in stillness and breathing exercise.
Over the past 20 years, mindfulness has grown dramatically in national popularity, and is now taught in primary and secondary schools, college education, businesses, prisons, hospitals, veterans' centers, therapy programs and government. People who apply mindfulness experience a reduction in stress, an increased sense of well-being and joy, and improved clarity and health.
In this three-week class, you will learn all the steps needed to enjoy the benefits of mindfulness practice and enrich your daily life.

Jampa Mackenzie Stewart, M.S.O.M., L.Ac., is the founder and director of the Healing Tao Institute
Jampa is a Senior Healing Tao Instructor and Chi Nei Tsang Instructor, certified by the Universal Healing Tao, and is the co-founder of Healing Tao USA. He holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College (SWAC) in Santa Fe and has taught Medical Qigong at both SWAC and the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, Texas. He is also an AOBTA Certified Instructor (CI)in Medical Qigong Therapy and Chi Nei Tsang.
Jampa served as editor and contributing writer for Healing Tao books from 1989-1995, and has collaborated with Chia on several books, including Awaken Healing Light of the Tao (1993) and The Inner Structure of Tai Chi (1996). In addition, he has written several books of his own, including The Life of Gampopa (Snow Lion, 1995) and Foundations of Taoist Practice (1995). He has also written over 50 published articles that have appeared in magazines such as Tantra, Qigong Magazine, Internal Arts, Black Belt, and Tai Chi.
